Yuma Bermudagrass germinates in 7-10 days provided soil temperatures remain above 70 degrees Fahrenheit and adequate moisture and nutrients are available. The first mowing should be initiated when the turf has reached a height of one inch. Once established, it can be maintained at heights ranging from �" on tee tops to one inch or more in golf course roughs. Improved Forage Bermudagrass Where to Plant: Type: Warm season perennial Adaptation: Across the southern 1/3 of the U.S. from California to Virginia. Particularly well suited to sandy soils but will thrive in most well-drained loam soils. Uses: Cheyenne can be used for both grazing and hay production throughout the spring and summer months under good management practices.
